Blackhawks Game... Psych! (SOL17 #2)

Anyone who knows me know that I am a huge Chicago Blackhawks fan. My husband and I watch almost every single game, and even had our wedding semi-Blackhawks themed. We also love to attend a home game at the United Center whenever offered tickets.

My phone buzzed in my pocket as I was driving to the grocery store. I handed it over to Phil because driving and looking at your phone is just not too safe. It was a message from my cousin who had come across with four tickets to the game that night against Vancouver. YES!

But who would we go with? It just so happened that it was my brother in law's birthday that day and he might just be as big of a fan as we are, so I decided to call his wife and let her know about this amazing opportunity. I believe the words that came out of my mouth were, "We came across 4 tickets for the Hawks game tonight. Would you want to go?" I didn't know this then, but I would soon figure out how important it is to use precise language.

Hilary responded, "YES! We'd love to! The kids will be so excited!"

Yep.
I didn't get to go to the game. But if I had to miss the Hawks game for anyone, my niece and nephew are those people.

They were a bunch of happy humans that day!

  1. Oh wow, what a story! Precision of language is super important, huh? Sorry you didn't get to go to the game, but I'll bet your niece and nephew had a great time! Thanks for sharing this!

  3. The fact that you immediately just switched it to the 4 of them, rather than clarifying, speaks volumes about you. :)
